Of course‚ the special and featured guest of Mountain Jam IV‚ celebrating his 70th birthday this year‚ was Levon Helm. Warren Haynes was able to sculpt an impressive ensemble deep with talent for the occasion. Donald Fagan sung "Shakedown Street‚" Sam Bush celebrated with "Up on Cripple Creek" and "Deep Elem Blues" added Jerry Douglas. Also sharing the stage were Jackie Greene‚ Steve Earle‚ Paterson & David Hood‚ Alison Moorer‚ and Alison Krauss.
For the Northeast region‚ Mountain Jam has firmly established itself as a top-notch festival. Each year the event offers more live music‚ more amenities‚ and more organization from security and staff. WDST and Warren Haynes are just hitting their stride and plans are already taking place for Mountain Jan VII which will be June 3-5‚ 2011.
