It's been rumored for weeks, and now Rolling Stone is reporting, based on sources close to the band, that Phish will headline two nights at Bonnaroo.
Interesting‚ huh? It feels full circle. In a lot of ways Phish's festivals‚ starting in 1996 with the Clifford Ball‚ served as the archetype for Bonnaroo. Anyway‚ this is cool news. So, no need to bitch. It's all good. Just watch this...

First instincts are odd, but on clearer thought could be the greatest thing ever. Imagine Phish ending and knowing there's still 27 bands left to play that night. Debauchery.

Adam - exactly. First thought is why when they can do it on their own. But you're point is great. Plus Bonnaroo is so dialed in - no two days sitting in traffic. Plus, plus, it's a great time to show the world what a Phish show is like. Plus, plus, plus, there's going to be a ton of great bands there bringing their A game - lots of pressure on Phish. And beside that one time, they always deliver. Yeah, gonna rage.

I can't see why this would be a bad idea. New people seeing the band, the guys mixing backstage with other brilliant people making great music... Why not be part of the community instead of doing everything yourselves? Plus, they've already been there. Hopefully the point of getting back together isn't to do the same things they used to do. (Except kick ass...)
