Adam King, one of State of Mind's finest‚ finally got his Dr. Dog review in, and it's great. It's the way the band deserves to be written about.
After his trying and triumphant adventure to Coachella‚ he disappeared into Phantogram. He didn't return phone calls or text messages -- his only communication was through Facebook status updates informing everyone of the intense pain and pleasure he was receiving through Phantogram's Eyelid Movies. Thankfully‚ he snapped out of it. This video was the last thing he posted before returning back from Phantogram:

I highly reccomend brief moments of escape and subversion, just so long as there's an exit plan. Dream-pop can saturate the circuits if not careful.

I really can't blame him, it is far to hard to stop spinning their new record.

"As Far As I Can See" is by far the stand-out track on this album. Love the stutter step beats and sassy vox. Reminds me of Portishead's Dummy...

I totally thought of Portishead on a few of these tracks, but fuck yeah, "As Far" is crushing. Can't believe that shit came out of Saratoga.
